Thermal Spraying Coating

Thermal Spraying Coatings are coating processes in which molten or semi-molten materials are propelled onto a surface. The coating materials in forms of powder, wire or rod are heated by Electrical (Plasma or Arc) or Combustion Flame and convert to micrometer-size particles. Then the particles are accelerated towards substrates and create a coating.

Thermal Spraying Coating

Thermal spraying is used in a variety of coating processes including Plasma Spraying, HVOF Spraying, Arc Spraying and Flame Combustion Spraying. These processes are also called Metalizing Spraying.

Coating quality is usually assessed by its porosity, oxide content, macro and micro-hardness, bond strength and surface roughness. Generally higher particle velocity results in higher coating quality. Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) provides various thermal spraying materials with competitive price.
