Rhodium is a chemical element originated from the Greek ‘rhodon’, meaning rose coloured. It was first mentioned in 1804 and observed by H. Wollaston. The isolation was later accomplished and announced by H. Wollaston. “Rh” is the canonical chemical symbol of rhodium. Its atomic number in the periodic table of elements is 45 with location at Period 5 and Group 9, belonging to the d-block.
