Europium is a chemical element originated from Europe. It was first mentioned in 1896 and observed by E.-A. DemarÃ§ay. The isolation was later accomplished and announced by E.-A. DemarÃ§ay. “Eu” is the canonical chemical symbol of europium. Its atomic number in the periodic table of elements is 63 with location at Period 6 and Group 3, belonging to the f-block. The relative atomic mass of europium is 151.964(1) Dalton, the number in the brackets indicating the uncertainty.
